NIACC volleyball team signs seven players

niacc_trojans_logoMASON CITY – The NIACC volleyball team has signed seven players for the 2014 season.

Signing with the Lady Trojans are Amber Carter (Nashua-Plainfield), Bailey Walter (Atlantic), Madison Wood (Rockford), Zoe Schneider (Prairie Valley), Karlie Niedert (Independence), Amanda Jacobs (Buena Park, Calif.) and Kendall Moorehead (Central Springs).

Carter, Moorehead and Wood were first-team all-Corn Bowl Conference selections. Moorehead and Wood were unanimous first-team picks.

Carter, a 5-foot-1 inch defensive specialist, accumulated 270 digs during her senior season at Nashua-Plainfield.

Walter, a 5-9 setter/right-side hitter, had 242 assists, 112 digs, 38 kills, 19 ace serves and 16 blocks during her senior season.

Wood, a 5-8 outside hitter, had 254 diges with 164 kills, 33 ace serves and 20 blocks as a senior.

Schneider, a 5-6 outside hitter/defensive specialist, had 229 kills, 170 digs and 39 ace serves in her senior season.

Niedert, a 5-9 middle blocker, had 237 kills, 69 blocks and 36 digs as a senior.

Moorehead, a 5-8 outside hitter, had 362 digs with 171 kills and 18 ace serves during her senior season.
