AMES, Iowa – April 10, 2012 –Today, the Iowa Transportation Commission approved a Revitalize Iowa’s Sound Economy (RISE) Local Development grant application submitted by the city of Spencer. Up to $140,342 will be made available to assist in construction of approximately 1,260 feet of East Eighth Street located on the east side of town. This project is anticipated to be completed by August 2012.
This project is necessary to provide access to more than 111 acres for heavy industrial purposes.
Funding for the grant comes from the city share of the RISE Fund.
