MASON CITY – A Mason City man allegedly tried to steal from Shopko and got caught.
According to Mason City police, officers were dispatched to the Shopko store at 615 South Monroe Avenue Saturday at about noon for a report of a male shoplifter. Police arrested 41-year-old Troy Jayson O’Rourke of Mason City at the scene.
O’Rourke was taken to the Cerro Gordo County Jail and charged with theft in the third degree, an aggravated misdemeanor.
O’Rourke is a convicted felon, pleading guilty in 2002 to felony D third degree burglary.
SUBJECT IS INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY
