Waterloo woman charged with stabbing murder after investigation

WATERLOO – Waterloo police said this week that a Waterloo woman has been charged with murder after an investigation in the weeks after the incident.

According to police, on September 29, 2013 at approximately 4:03 AM, Waterloo Police were dispatched to 1266 West Mullan Avenue on report of a stabbing.

Officers found that John Ladell Bass, age 29, of Waterloo had been stabbed one time in the chest. He died later that day.

Waterloo Police have charged Keisha Lesha Magee, age 39, of Waterloo with Murder in the First Degree for stabbing Bass in the chest.

According to witnesses, Magee came to 1266 West Mullan Avenue and asked if Bass was there. After being told that Bass was not there, Magee asked to use the bathroom and went into the house. Bass and Magee had contact inside the house and Magee went into the kitchen, got a knife, and stabbed Bass once in the chest.

Magee has been in the Black Hawk County Jail since 09-30-13. Her bond for Murder in the 1st Degree is $1,000,000.00.
