LIBERTYVILLE, IOWA – On the morning of October 11, 2013, at approximately 4:45 a.m., the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to 703 East Maple, Libertyville, Iowa, in reference to a deceased infant. Authorities responded and found a deceased infant.
This matter is currently under investigation by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation, the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner, The Jefferson County Medical Examiner, the Iowa Department of Human Services, and the Jefferson County Attorney’s Office.
Due to the nature of this incident and the ongoing investigation, no further comment on the case will be made until the investigation is concluded or charges are filed.
