Cyclones whipped by Red Raiders 42-35 (VIDEO)

LUBBOCK, Texas – Iowa State fell to the No. 20 Texas Tech Red Raiders, 42-35, in a close game at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock,  Texas. The Cyclones fall to 1-4 and 0-2 in the Big 12, while the Red Raiders improve to 6-0 and 3-0 in Big 12 play.

Turning Point of the Game
In a game that featured many turning points, the Texas Tech scoring drive in the fourth quarter to bring the lead back to 14 was the deciding factor for the Cyclones. The Red Raiders would score on a 38-yard touchdown rush by SaDale Foster with 5:30 remaining to bring the score to 42-28. The Cyclones would score off a 16-yard pass from Sam Richardson to E.J. Bibbs to trim the lead to 42-35 where it would stand.

Special Teams Game Ball Goes To…
Junior Jarvis West. West came up big for the Cyclones with a 95-yard kick return for a touchdown to even the score 7-7, answering the early Red Raider touchdown. That touchdown was the first non-onside kick return touchdown for Iowa State since 1994. West also had an impressive 38-yard punt return in the fourth quarter to add to his top-notch special teams performance.
