MASON CITY – A Clear Lake man is back behind bars Wednesday after allegedly violating a no-contact order for a third time.

Chad Ryan Tannahill, 44, had a no-contact order placed on him on March 14th, 2013 after an incident the previous evening in Clear Lake where he was arrested on charges of 2nd degree kidnapping (felony D), 2nd degree criminal mischief (felony B), and domestic assault/strangulation (aggravated misdemeanor).

Tannahill was found guilty on May 30th of violating the no-contact order with the victim in the case two times; once on May 9th and once on May 22nd. This third alleged violation occurred on June 29th. Clear Lake police picked him up on a warrant on July 3rd at about 1 AM.

Mason City police filed an application in court Tuesday to initiate criminal contempt of court charges.

Tannahill is being held on no bond at this time. His trial date is set for August 13th.

  1. This is what a lethal combination of meth addiction and mental illness will do to a person. One day NIT will do a story on Chad when he kills a person he has been stalking. I gurantee you this is how this will end up.
