CLEAR LAKE – Two North Iowa law enforcement agencies worked together Thursday to bring a wanted man into custody.
On Thursday evening at about 8:38 PM, Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s deputies and Clear Lake police arrested a male subject, Michael David Eichmann, 43, on two valid Cerro Gordo county warrants. Police had located Eichmann at his home at 7919 230th Street in Clear Lake and attempted to arrest him. Police said Friday that Eichmann resisted arrest and was subdued after a taser was deployed by a deputy. Eichmann was in possession of a handgun during the arrest and was charged accordingly with Interference with Official acts while in possession of a firearm, a class D Felony.
Eichmann was wanted after failing to show up in court on two counts of felony D theft in the second degree, brought by Clear Lake police in February; a warrant had been issued for his arrest on April 29th. Clear Lake police allege that Eichmann stole from Marquart Concrete and Cloud Nine, both Clear Lake businesses. He is being held on $5,000 bond at this time in the Cerro Gordo County Jail.
Just last month, records show that a petition for relief from domestic abuse was filed in Cerro Gordo County District Court against Eichmann by a North Iowa woman and Judge Rustin Davenport granted a protective order. Eichmann served time in jail last year for contempt of court stemming from a guilty plea to an assault charge. In addition, Eichmann owes Iowa courts thousands of dollars in fines and fees; he owes $2,615.00, for example, from a 2009 conviction of second offense operating while intoxicated.

SUBJECT IS INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY.
