MASON CITY – The sign says “Est. 1891.” The other one says “sorry we’re closed.”
It seems that a fixture in the Mason City greenhouse business, Krieger’s Garden Center, has closed their doors, possibly for good.
Krieger’s Garden Center, located at 2299 4th Street SE, has been serving Mason City for decades.
The business and property was owned by Herb and Karen Krieger. Calls to the business were not answered.
NorthIowaToday.com was alerted to the situation by readers who emailed in the bulletin. One email said “Big Bad Wells Fargo pulled the plug on them yesterday.”
UPDATE: A person claiming to be a Wells Fargo representative called NorthIowaToday.com Friday at 4 pm and informed us that Wells Fargo did not serve Krieger’s in any way, and said it was another bank. NorthIowaToday.com makes no claim as to what bank, if any, ever served any business, and only reported what an email stated.
