DES MOINES – Iowa will lose millions during the federal government sequestration, according to information released this week from the Iowa Department of Management.

Department of Management Director David Roederer prepared a spreadsheet showing the lost revenues to the state of Iowa.  The spreadsheet shows about $46 million reduction to various Iowa agencies.  Education is the hardest hit, slated to lose $14 million.  Public health is next, losing $8.7 million and Human Rights the next biggest loser with a $4.3 million reduction.

Make no mistake, I am all for the budget cuts.

The voters of this country are hell bent on spending America into bankruptcy.

    Let the Sequester begin!

Sorry, people. I really don’t want to hear your whining. This should have been fixed back in 2011 when sequester was signed. Perhaps all you’re doing is getting what you deserve.

You really have to look at the chart to get to the truth here. It is just more “Sky is Falling” The budget for the blind was $457,965 in the previous year and $210,632 this year before the “REDUCTION”. That means that item was already reduced $247,330 before the Sequester reduction. If you look at Education $268,769,830 the previous year and $275727774 this year so it went up $6,957,944 this year so the REAL reduction is $7,042,056.If they are going to try to B.S. us they should not put out numbers.

President Obama (from John Kerry’s recent announcement) just gave 250 million dollars to Egypt.

Iowa loses 46.2 million dollars in necessary budget cuts to keep America from going bankrupt.

The message is; Egypt is more important than the America!

    Go Obama!
