NIACC wrestling competes Saturday

CEDAR RAPIDS – The NIACC wrestling team returns to action Saturday the Coe College Open in Cedar Rapids. Wrestling starts at 9 a.m.

The following is the Trojans’ lineup for Saturday:

125 – JP Gamez (freshman, Dade City, Fla.), Arthur Nelson (freshman, Miami, Fla.). 133 – Cole Bamrick (freshman, Ryan, Iowa), Cody Casteline (freshman, Austin, Texas). 141 – Blake Spotts (freshman, Nora Springs, Iowa). 149 – Dillon Coe (freshman, Mason City, Iowa), Javon Jackson (sophomore, Cleveland, Ohio), Sam Solis (freshman, Clarion, Iowa). 157 – Blake Campbell (freshman, Atalissa, Iowa), Isaiah Chekelelee (freshman, Robbinsville, North Carolina), Dillon Christensen (sophomore, West Liberty, Iowa), Devin Dunnum (freshman, Fort Collins, Colorado), Aaron Jesser (freshman, Fort Collins, Colorado).

165 – Parker Sturges (freshman, Mason City, Iowa). 174 – D Hansen (freshman, Huxley, Iowa). 184 – Basil Minto (sophomore, Cape Coral, Florida). 197 – Shakheim Chapman (freshman, Gumee, Illinois). 285 – Picasso Ambroise (freshman, Miami, Florida), Jose Chavez Del Real (freshman, Mustang, Oklahoma).

Last time out: NIACC wrestled at the Luther Open in Decorah last Saturday. Chapman placed third in the freshman division at 197 pounds. Sha-Keno Jenkins (freshman, Ellenwood, Ga.) was fourth at 149 pounds in the freshman division. Daniel Santiel (freshman, Florida City, Fla.) was sixth at 197 pounds in the freshman division and Alex Stockton (freshman, Gardner, Iowa) was sixth at 285 pounds in the freshman division.

For the record: Solis is 8-4 at 141 pounds … Jenkins is 5-4 at 149 pounds … Minto is 3-1 at 184 pounds … Stockton is 5-3 at 285 pounds …Chavez Del Real is 8-4 at 285 pounds.
