MASON CITY – Holiday decorations are going up in Mason City.

Crews were in the Central Park area Tuesday hoisting up the large green wreaths at the top of light poles.

Over the weekend with the unseasonably warm weather, residents could be seen outside tacking strings of lights to their windows and porches.

“We always get started a little before Thanksgiving,” a man said as he and his wife and kids all helped position a Santa Claus figure in their yard, on 7th Street SE.  “We enjoy working on it together as a family.”

Thanksgiving is only about a week away, are your decorations all ready for the Holiday season?

  1. @Mrs.S-there is no Christmas anymore. It is all about the retail. The real meaning of Christmas has been lost in the shuffle. Look at the retail stores that are forcing their employees to work on Thanksgiving. They just don’t care as long as they make money.

  2. Can we do one holiday at a time? Everyone used to decorate the day after Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday & everyone is skipping over it & going straight to Christmas anymore.:(
