MASON CITY – On October 16th, a person called in a welfare check on a subject at 115 6th Street NW and claimed the subject was inside and had made various harmful threats. Officers responded but took precautions because it was unknown if the subject was armed.
At the scene, police had the alley between 5th Street and 6th Street blocked off and were investigating the incident that happened at above location.
A female subject was crying and being comforted by a friend.
Police said that eventually officers made contact with the occupant and discussed alternative stress management options.
