Osage police arrest carnie with knife at fairgrounds

OSAGE – Osage Police Department officers were notified of a 911 call around 2:48am on August 5th that there was a subject with a knife and that he had assaulted several people at the fairgrounds. Upon arrival officers found two subjects that had been injured and one that admitted he had caused those injuries. Robert Neil Killens of Des Moines was arrested for Serious Assault, Simple Assault and 3 counts of Going Armed with Intent. Also arrested was Patrick Henry Joyce of Mason City for Possession of a Controlled Substance. All parties involved were employees of Smith Amusements and the altercation was contained to their camping area. The Osage Police Department was assisted by the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office.
