Dennis Higgins deserves a big round of applause for his presentation to the Country Board of Supervisors and stating he wants the fairground turned into an “All Events Center.” Now he needs to partner with City Hall in making it happen.
The city should realize that the same people who want the big hockey rink downtown can still be the very ones who will design it and equip it and can even decide which kind of popcorn will be served….just split the cost with the county and incorporate all the amenities needed to facilitate the needs of all those who live here and not just hockey pucks.
Maybe there could even be some commercial establishments incorporated into the complex that could be open year around and feed revenue into the center. Get the group who put together the Park Inn Hotel to head it up, just don’t lt them decide where you can park. I vote yes!
