Clear Lake police arrested 29 year old Alan Cannon of Clear Lake Tuesday evening a day after a warrant was issued for Cannon’s arrest. The arrest was related to an investigation into an alleged incident on November 25th.
Cannon is charged with one class C felony count of 3rd degree sexual abuse, and one misdemeanor count supplying alcohol to person underage. Cannon was released from the Cerro Gordo County jail the following day. He has been given a court appointed attorney and a preliminary hearing has been set for December 16th at 8:30am.
3rd degree sexual abuse is a class C felony. If convicted a defendant could be sentenced to serve up to 10 years in prison, pay a minimum fine of $1000, and adhere to sex offender registry requirements.
Subject is innocent until proven guilty.
