ACKLEY, IOWA – A North Iowa couple was arrested this weekend after a drug dealing operation was allegedly uncovered at their home.
On the afternoon of January 12, 2018, Ackley Police and Ackley K-9 Lexer, assisted by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department, executed a Search Warrant at 190 Warbler Avenue in Ackley, Iowa. The search warrant was granted after a recent undercover drug buy was orchestrated in this location resulting in the exchange of marijuana for controlled money with documented serial numbers.
During the execution of the warrant, over 387 grams of marijuana was seized, along with electronic scales, multiple pieces of drug paraphernalia, cash that included within it some bills with matching serial numbers from the undercover controlled drug buy, live marijuana plants, prescription medicine, and multiple electronic devices. Stolen property from an Ackley burglary in 2017 was also discovered, on a tip from an informant that the property was stolen and traded for Marijuana in lieu of cash payment; and was in the possession of a resident in the household.
As a result of this operation, 19-year-old Dakota James Kuienzle and 18-year-old Rosa Elia Garcia, who live in this residence, were taken into custody and transported to the Franklin County Jail. Each were charged with:
• Unlawful Delivery or Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana-a Class D Felony
• Failure to Affix Drug Tax Stamp Class D Felony
• Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Serious Misdemeanor Dakota
James Kienzle was also charged with:
• Theft 4th Degree (Possession or Control over Stolen Property Valued under $500) Serious Misdemeanor.
