Steve King appears to say that white people lost more in tragedy of slavery than black people

Steve King gets a dewey glow in his eye when greeted by white people.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Who got the worst of the world-wide tragedy that was (is?) human slavery – white people or black people? Steve King seems to point to “evidence” that whites lost more than the blacks.

Iowa Congressmen Steve King – who calls himself an “agribusinessman,” not a history professor – said Saturday via a tweet that “Confirmed in “Christian Slaves, Muslim Masters” by Robert C. Davis-Ohio State University. As many as 1,250,000 whites enslaved by Muslims while 600,000 black Africans were enslaved in what is now the U.S. & 600,000 white Americans lost their lives in the struggle to end slavery.”

What is your opinion – is slavery a tragedy for all of humanity, or is it true that one race was victimized over another?

Hell we are still paying for it, just watch all the so called racial profiling bs we hear all day every day. Black people still throw it out to us and they think it all stems from slavery. In their world everything is free just take it. Then they say the police are profiling them for being black and the theft is nothing. They don’t have to follow the rules all because of slavery.

I will be voting for Steve King again in 2018. He has been a stellar representative for Iowa. I know that will rankle you haters out there but the fact is America is on it’s way to be GREAT AGAIN. To bad the Democrats don’t want that for America.

You go ahead and do that Jimbo. Both you and your old man were / are tight whites.

Well, I am not “Jimbo” so don’t blame that fellow. Blame me!

Oh, fyi I am just an independent that happens to appreciate people like King and Trump who actually care about America. Why don’t you?

Let’s MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

King is right. Slavery cost whites much more than blacks. Slavery resulted in a war that killed 620,000 soldiers, according to Civil War Facts. Probably about that many civilians died. 1.24 Million dead as a direct result. Wikipedia shows that only 305,326 people were brought to the US as slaves. Now add in the number of whites raped and murdered by blacks since then. Crime statistics show that far far fewer blacks are murdered by whites.

While your argument here is ridiculous and easier to punch holes in than tin foil, it is nice to see you’re finally admitting that the Civil War was fought over slavery. For that, I say thanks for owning up Early Boy.

He is probably correct on this. Slavery is still happening every single day under the Muslim’s.

What this incredulous man fails to contemplate, was that America was supposedly a Nation founded on enlightened, rights-for-all values. The Right for Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. No such preamble was declared or ratified in bygone Muslim kingdoms. It is the hypocrisy and double standards and relativity to our present time which makes the American enslavement practice so odious. Steve King is a butt muncher. The man should be removed from office 2018 and the people of Iowa need to stop participating in this man’s skewed vision.

Why don’t you try using facts to dispute King. The immorality of slavery is not being debated. If you want to address immorality talk about illegal immigration, a form of slavery. Far more die on the way to our country. Many die while being transported. They get paid substandard wages which they must use for housing and food. At least slaves were provided food and housing by the owners.

I don’t know how much more you need? Was America founded on the notion of inalienable rights? Were those rights selectively applied to white men? You seem unable to reconcile your auto-pilot support of Republicanism with the reality that Steve’s examples don’t add up.
