What a shame these fine upstanding young adults couldn’t read the signs that were posted about alcohol being prohibited at Big Blue.

From his brother AJ’s post on Facebook, Hampton is a worthless school anyway, so wonder he didn’t learn to read.

You apparently didn’t learn how to write What’s your excuse?.

Well at least one girl seems happy about it with her smile!

You are so right on that one!

Fyi- in cerro gordo if you break the law you have to go to jail. Have you seen our warrant list lately? Too many out of towers don’t show up for court which causes a lot of paperwork and time tracking them down. Most of these people are listed from Hampton. Police are not given the option of releasing them with a citation without a sargents approval.

If someone thinks that’s overkill you can blame the thousands of jackasses that didn’t MAN up and go to court. Police don’t take these…

DON’T MAN UP???????? Who would possibly waste their effort to report to court for this NONSENSE?????? Of age….tested .03…..HANDCUFFED….GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!!!! Get serious…do YOU feel really feel safe now with these CRIMINALS locked up???? You’re a JOKE MCPD!!!!!!!! AND anyone who supports you is TOO!!!!

I don’t think it’s about feeling safe, they blatantly broke the law the sign is very clear. Maybe the north end could get cleaned up, if the police didn’t have to deal with people snubbing their nose at laws.

@Savage-what does Ray Rorick Park have to do with the North End? It is in the crime ridden south end. The blight is everywhere in town. Yes, some of the building in the North End need work but the center of town is worse. Get rid of the slum lords and the imports and the city will clean itself up.

Should have left the north end reference out.

more trouble on the north end than west, east or south. Concentrate on north.

@Anonymous-Check the records. There is a lot more that happens in the middle and south end then there is in the north end.

That’s why I moved many years ago to the Mason City bottoms!

Next they will be handcuffing and taking you to jail for a speeding ticket!!
What a bunch of bull! To the police in this town not have anything better to do? Have they driven through the north end lately? Drug dealers and gang members roaming the streets and they hassle these guys for a beer? They did not even have enough alcohol in their system to arrest them for public intoxication. They should have wrote them a ticket dump their beer out and moved on!

@Anmonymous-Why would you have them dump the beer? If they are of legal age to buy beer and have it in a sack but are not drinking it, it is not illegal. The law says no drinking in the park. It says nothing about possession.

Mason City folks must feel quite safe knowing they have Barney Fife with 1 bullet and a badge keeping law and order. Of these 5….one was intoxicated…one was under age. THREE were of age and blew .02 & .03. CAN ANYONE explain to me why they were HANDCUFFED and MUGSHOT for having a sack of beer. Seems like some OVERKILL!!!!!!!! I always try to respect our law inforcement people and their actions. This makes me question WHY!!!!!!!!! These ridiculous actions make me sad!! The nation has news…

Sounds like a time where the police could use some discretion..

Are you Hicks?

We were arrested for sealed alcohol that was inside of bags owned by people over the age of 21. None of it was open let alone being drank at the park. I am a student and work a full time job, so you’re overused “stay in school” line is irrelevant. This was simply the MCPD feeling like swinging their dicks around. Of course they left out the part where everyone but one person blew .02 and .03 because we drank BEFORE we went there. Have a nice day 😉

MDS, I realize that the government isn’t always truthful, so I can only comment on what I read. If what you say is the truth, I would fight the charges.

Your description of the MC police us pretty much true. There are some dirty cops in this town, and quite honestly, you can’t trust any of them. They aren’t here to protect and serve. If they were, there wouldn’t be the huge drug problem in this town. They’re all part of the problem.

If what you say is true you should get a lawyer and fight it all the way. Make it as public as you can. I don’t have much sympathy for law breakers and even less for cops that set people up for no reason.

All old enough to know better, but they just do not care about the law. Maybe they will after they pay their fines.

Which one is under 21?

Do you mean hooked on phonics!

Should have stayed in school and concentrated on reading comprehension.
