MASON CITY – Cops witnessed a disturbance at a convenience store, and arrested a man.
A Cerro Gordo deputy responded to a disturbance at Kum n Go, 418 South Federal Avenue on Tuesday, May 19 at about 7:28 PM. After an investigation, 27-year-old Andrew Reed Babbitt was placed under arrest on a charge of public intoxication.
Babbitt is currently also charged with aggravated misdemeanor third or subsequent offense public intoxication, after a March 20 arrest by Mason City police. He’s awaiting a jury trial in July in that case. Earlier this year, in Mitchell county, he pled guilty to that same charge. He was given a suspended 60 day jail term, a year of probation, and ordered to pay $1,153.68 in court fees. A fine was suspended.
he is in prison now
…let’s see…previous sentence suspended…previous fine suspended…why shouldn’t he feel he can continue to act up? It isn’t like anything is “really” going to happen to him!
Like these guys could care less about a fine or even going to jail At least when they go to jail they get some decent food, a shower and any medical care the need. All at taxpayer expense of course.
