Erik Giovanni-Quiroa (pictured at top), a criminal illegal alien from Guatemala, has a criminal history that includes a conviction in 2011 for aggravated battery with a firearm, for which he was sentenced to 16 years in prison, and a conviction in 2025 for aggravated sexual abuse of a 5-year-old child, for which he was sentenced to three years in prison. ICE lodged a detainer with the Illinois Department of Corrections (IDOC), but Governor J.B. Pritzker and his fellow Illinois sanctuary politicians refused to cooperate with ICE and released this pedophile from jail into the community.

On April 22, 2026, ICE conducted a targeted vehicle stop and arrested him at large in the community. Giovanni-Quiroa again endangered the public by refusing to stop when given lawful commands and attempting to flee in his vehicle.

An Iowa man who sexually exploited children and possessed child pornography was sentenced April 27, 2026, to 25 years in federal prison. According to federal prosecutors, “he got minors to produce and send depictions of sexually explicit conduct to him. He also admitted he possessed child pornography. Information at the sentencing hearing showed that Sanderson used the Internet to attempt to persuade, induce, and entice four girls, and two of the girls sent him sexually explicit depictions of themselves.”

The suspect has a long record of United States military and law enforcement encounters. On March 10, 2012, the U.S.S. Halsey responded to a distress call from an Indian-flagged ship reporting that pirates had hijacked it in the Gulf of Aden. A Visit, Board, Search and Seizure (VBSS) team conducted boarding operations and encountered the suspect and nine other armed pirates who had taken the Indian ship hostage by force, where the Navy then logged his fingerprint. He has made numerous attempts to gain entry to the U.S. since then.

MASON CITY — A local woman with a long history of criminal offenses was arrested Thursday morning after allegedly leading a group of individuals in a violent confrontation at a north side residence earlier this week.

The charges follow an incident on the afternoon of April 19, 2026, when the suspect and several acquaintances allegedly went to a residence in the 400 block of North Pennsylvania Avenue to confront an individual.

Authorities ask for help in locating suspects in mass shooting incident in Iowa City

IOWA CITY – The Iowa City Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred early Sunday, April 19, 2026, and are seeking clues in nabbing suspects.

Initially, multiple victims were taken to area hospitals to be treated for wounds suffered in the shooting. No arrests were made. Videos circulated online, showing hoodied goons beating each other with feminine punches, some with their pants sagging to the beaten brick walkway. The gleaming and alluring neon bar signs glistened in the pale moonlight as the stink of booze and Swisher Sweet cigar smoke wafted in the breeze.

As part of the ongoing investigation, investigators are seeking to identify persons of interest associated with this shooting.

Masked teens on motorized bikes nabbed after harassing folks on Iowa college campus

A weeks-long campaign of harassment and property damage at this small Iowa college campus has come to a halt after police successfully identified a group of teens using motorbikes to terrorize the campus.

According to police, these masked punks showed a blatant disregard for public safety. They were frequently observed driving at high speeds on pedestrian sidewalks and tearing through carefully landscaped areas, causing significant property damage. More concerning were reports that the riders deliberately drove in close proximity to pedestrians, creating what police described as a “significant safety hazard.”
