POCAHONTAS — A 23-year-old Northern Iowa man faces an operating while intoxicated charge following an October 24, 2026, traffic stop in Pocahontas County.
The Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office said deputies stopped a silver GMC Canyon in the 50000 block of 220th Avenue.
As a result of the stop, authorities arrested Jacob Ferguson, 23, of Pocahontas. He was charged with first-offense operating while intoxicated, which the sheriff’s office identified as a serious misdemeanor.
The release did not disclose the reason for the traffic stop, the time it occurred or any chemical testing results. Bond information and a court date were not included.
NIT previously covered a separate Pocahontas County OWI investigation involving a golf cart on a Laurens trail, which led to an arrest in August.
Ferguson’s charge is an accusation, and he is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
