FOREST CITY – An elderly North Iowa man was sentenced to prison this week on two charges of sexual abuse of a child.
Court records show that Clarence Christian Miller, age 81 of Thompson, Iowa, was found guilty by a jury in October of two counts of felony B 2nd degree sexual abuse which involved 8 year old girls. Judge Dedra Schroeder then denied Miller’s request for a new trial.
On Tuesday, Judge Schroeder imposed two 25-year sentences on Miller, to run consecutively, and will have to serve 35 years before there is any chance he is released.
Records show that Miller was imposed $140,055.23 in court costs, restitution and other charges. He has already paid $135,000.00.
Clarence Miller has received over $180,000 in farm
subsidies. Looks like he will continue living off the government until he dies…..
Why would he pay if he’s going in for life? He could have put it in a trust to pay the prison canteen for life and get goodies in lockdown.
He should have received a lessor sentence because of it, this will show others to hide any cash and that it won’t make any difference to pay it to the court. Others will learn from this spend down all their cash.
I applaud him for paying the $135,000. Most don’t and in his case, he will die in prison, other than that, this is disgusting.
