MASON CITY – Saturday afternoon at about 4:27 PM, a Mason City police officer was patrolling the area of 6th Street NE and North Delaware Ave. when he spotted a man known to have two valid out of county warrants out for his arrest.

The officer attempted to make contact with the subject, identified as Jason Robison, 38, of Mason City, (seen at left in handcuffs) who was riding a bike. Robison fled, riding the bike, and then abandoned it on 5th Street NE, where a two hour search ensued.

Mason City police officers conducted an extensive search of about one city block, assisted by the Worth County Sheriff’s K-9 Team.  Worth County Sheriff Dan Fink entered, announced and released his K-9 in the building of 108 5th Street NE.   Several minutes later he came out empty handed.  Mason City Police continued to look at neighboring houses and backyards. It was reported that Robison had called 911 and said, “Hey, give me a minute and I’ll turn myself in. What do you want me for?”

With the help of an onlooker, who spotted suspicious motioning from a resident sitting on a porch, the officers inspected near a third house.  Mason City Police found Robison in the bushes behind that house.

Robison was finally taken into custody without incident on two Worth County warrants: One for second degree theft, a class C felony and another for driving while barred, an aggravated misdemeanor.

At least the dude was riding a bicycle. And not driving while barred. Again. Points to him for that.

i was listening to the scanner around this time and the individual did call the dispatcher. she relayed this fact to the police there.

is that you chris?

who is the guy running the camera?

Doesn’t anyone know how to construct a proper sentence, get a name right, or take a decent photo in this town? Apparently not.

Oh, those things aren’t important here. Getting upset about misspellings, punctuation errors, or poor sentence construction is considered to be just downright silly. However, some of the people here who can’t spell are the first to throw darts at the school system for one reason or another, yet some of them paid so little attention to detail when they were in school. Education was the best freebie they were ever offered, yet they squandered it and didn’t take advantage of learning all they could.

Katie-there is nothing FREE about education and I wish people would quit saying crap like that. I pay more in taxes for schools than anything else.

fank, dan fank, not fink little errors like this makes me think you might be the globe

So is it robison or robertson? robison just got 15 yrs didnt he? how could he be out? just wondering

He did get 15 years then posted 15,000 on an appeal bond. Until his appeal gets to court he is still victimizing the citizens of North Iowa. He has been arrested in Cerro Gordo County for two burglaries since that appeal also.

I know this man an he’s been in an out of jail for 20 some years. I fill sorry for his kids that they have to keep seeing there dad in jail.(thank god for the kids mother)
