Bonnie Jean (Aukes) Carpenter, 83, of Allison, Iowa, passed away on March 28, 2026. Woodley Funeral Home and Crematory, Allison is caring for Bonnie and her family.

She was born on January 3, 1943 in Allison, Iowa to William and Jeanetta (Johnson) Aukes.
She grew up in Allison and graduated from Allison/Bristow High School. Due to her love of
learning, she went on to complete several college courses in Virginia as well. She was also very
proud of her career as a technical writer for Hughes Aircraft, working in both California and
Colorado.

Bonnie loved spending time with her grandsons (Eric and Bryan), enjoying her dogs (including
her Sheltie, Katie), visiting and celebrating with family, studying history and visiting museums
and historical sites, spending time in the garden with her beautiful flowers, traveling anywhere,
learning about Thomas Jefferson, observing birds and butterflies, creating cross stitch pictures,
listening to music (including Elvis, Neil Diamond and Christmas songs) and collecting Santas
and Christmas ornaments.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law (Tammi & Brad Wright), her grandsons (Eric &
Bryan Wright), her brother (Jerry Aukes), sister-in-law (Shirley Aukes) and many nieces and
nephews.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents (William & Jeanetta Aukes), her brother (Eddie
Aukes) and her sister-in-law (Judy Aukes).

A private family graveside service with be held on April 10th.
