OBIT: Douglas Clough

Douglas “Doug” Clough, 62, of Hollandale, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at his home. A gathering to celebrate Doug’s life will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2026 at the Northwood VFW in Northwood, Iowa, with a short prayer service at 11:30 a.m.

Douglas “Doug” Clough, 62, of Hollandale, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at his home.

A gathering to celebrate Doug’s life will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2026 at the Northwood VFW in Northwood, Iowa, with a short prayer service at 11:30 a.m.

Doug was born March 30, 1963 in Freeborn County to Vernon LeRoy and Jeanne A. (Zerck) Clough. After his parents’ separation, he was fortunate to have his stepfather, Marvin Christenson, as an important part of his life. He graduated from Albert Lea High School and went on to work many years as an electrician with Jensen Electric and Streaters, later working alongside local farmers.

Doug was a hard worker who felt most at home outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time on a tractor. He loved a good game of cards, especially 500, and treasured time with family and friends, especially on holidays.

He had a lifelong love for dogs, from his childhood companion Tippy to his golden retriever, Keisha. Doug was a devoted NASCAR fan, known for his strong opinions and his familiar saying, “What in the world.”

He is survived by his sisters, Debra Butler of Northwood, IA,

Donna (Paul) Butler of Northwood, IA; nieces and nephews, Christina (Tony) Trosper, Katie Butler (Chris Duncomb), Jennifer Butler, Jeffrey Butler, Jeremy Butler, and Jamie Butler; great nieces and nephews, Leah, Jessica, and Reina Trosper, Dominic and Cadence Duncomb, David Thompson and Levi Wood, and Quinton Butler; one great-great nephew Karsyn; step-Brother, Lonnie Berg; best friends, Michael Walker, Dale Anderson; as well as extended family and friends

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeanne A. (Marvin) Christenson; father, Vernon Clough; as well as many extended family members.
