Delores R. Doyle, 82, of Oelwein, Iowa, died Friday morning, March 20, 2026, at Lexington Estates in Independence, Iowa.
Private family graveside will be held at a later date.
Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home in Oelwein is assisting the family.
Delores Rose Meyer was born August 19, 1943, in South Dakota, the daughter of William P. and Wilma (Duin) Meyer. She graduated from Flandreau High School, South Dakota and then attended secretarial college. On September 22, 1961, she was united in marriage to Gary Lee Doyle in Ward, South Dakota. Delores and Gary moved to Waterloo, Iowa in 1967 and then to Oelwein in 1973. She worked for Oelwein Community Schools as an Administrative Assistant. Delores was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Oelwein. She enjoyed biking, playing cards, caring for stray cats and spending time with her grandchildren. Delores will be remembered for her great sense of humor.
Delores is survived by her 2 daughters: Kim (Bekah Padilla) Doyle of St. Paul, Minnesota and Shelly (John) Bagge of Independence; 3 grandchildren: Ben (Stephanie Josten) Bagge, Ashlyn (Nathan) McNamara, and Michael (Quang Pham) Bagge; sister: Marlene (Lyle) Westhoff of Olympia, Washington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband: Gary on November 28, 2015.
The family would like to thank the staff at Lexington Estate for their loving care and hospitality they showed Delores during her time there.
