Annabelle was born on October 29, 1928, to Irvin and Susie (Cordes) Pagel. She was united in marriage to William H. Groen, July 21, 1945. He passed in 1993. She later remarried, Eimee Dohlman he passed shortly after their marriage. She attended a Country School. After school Annabelle started working at different jobs, the last one being at the Court House as a custodian. Annabelle was involved in Church, Amvet breakfast, card and bingo groups. In her free time, she would be found in her garden in the nicer months tending to her flowers and veggies. When things got a little too cold to be outside, she could be found around the card table swapping stories and laughs while she ran the table. She loved to bake and kept her recipes safe and very rarely let them be known to anyone and that even meant family too. Annabelle left a lasting impression on all those she came into contact with and those memories will be cherished.

Left to mourn Annabelle’s passing are her children: Virginia (Robert) Dean, Linda (Jack) Ackerson, Butch (Gwen) Groen, Elaine (Eric) Johnson, and Wendell (Jackie) Groen. Grandchildren: Threasa (Scott) Glasscock, Tammy (Kelly) Fehr, Annette (Dan) Spielbaur, Jack (Judy) Ackerson, Clint (Molly) Ackerson, Gail (Brad) Johnson , Lisa (Jerry) Green, John (Leslie) Groen, Patty (Landen) Uhlenhopp, Lynn ( Aaron) Anhalt, Eric (Lisa) Epley, Jeremy Epley, Michael (Katie) Groen, Chris Groen, and Benjamin (Tania) Groen, Annabelle was blessed with 68 grand and great-grandchildren, 4 of these are 5th generation. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother William (Buddy) Pagel, grandson Gary Ackerson, three half-brothers and two half-sisters.
