Albert J. Hegenbarth Jr., 93, of Mason City, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Epiphany Parish St.-Joseph Catholic Church.

Albert J. Hegenbarth Jr., 93, of Mason City, passed away on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Epiphany Parish St.-Joseph Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 5 -7 pm on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N Pennsylvania Ave. Burial will be held in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials can be directed to the family of Albert Hagenbarth.

Albert James Hegenbarth was born on May 6, 1932, to parents Albert Sr. and Loretta (Fransen) Hegenbarth. Albert attended Mason City high school graduating in 1950

On March 21, 1951, Al joined the United States Navy, serving until March of 1955. Following his time in the Navy he was united in marriage to Patricia Mills. On May 16, 1981, Al was remarried to Jeannette Burgart Tracy.

Al began working in the construction industry following his time in the Navy, working for Henkel Construction for 17 years and Modern Structures for 16, before starting Al & J Construction and operating the business for 10 years before retiring in 1994.

Al enjoyed fishing cycling, gardening and roller skating. Al was a long time member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Al is survived by his wife, Jeanette; children, Hava Hegenbarth, Jim (Molly) Hegenbarth, Heidi (Scott) Smith, John (Pelita) Hegenbarth, Heather (Jim) Shaw, Hailey (Monty) Peabody, Bill (Larissa) Hegenbarth and Ben (Alsu) Hegenbarth; step-sons, Dave, Jon and Matt; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brothers, Jack, Bill and Tom;

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Bob; former wife Patricia.
