CLEAR LAKE – Wednesday at about 4:47 PM, Clear Lake police responded to a motorcycle accident at Highway 18 near Buddy Holly Place.

The officer discovered Cory Lorentzen, 26, of Mason City pushing a motorcycle in the grass alongside the road. Lorentzen admitted to the officer that he had just had an accident after giving his motocycle “too much throttle.”

It is said that “motorcycle night” is held at a nearby restaurant. An NIT reader who witnessed the incident said Lorentzen “tried doing a wheelie in front of Casey’s by the Surf Ballroom but dumped bike instead. He’s still being ticked as you’re receiving these photos.”

“Lorentzen suffered some injuries to his hand and leg but refused medical attention,” Clear Lake police informed. “His motorcycle suffered some major damage and had to be loaded into a truck.”

Lorentzen was cited for Failure to Maintain Control and a state accident report was completed.
