December 10, 1970 ~ November 5, 2025

Troy Lynn Hart, 54, of Cresco, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, surrounded by his family and his beloved dogs.

Troy was born December 10, 1970, in Cresco, the son of Larry Hart and Patricia Hruska. From an early age, Troy was always on the move. Alongside his closest friends, Scott Ludeking and Kenny Hubka—the “Three Amigos”—he spent countless hours riding three-wheelers and motorcycles, cruising Main Street, and tinkering with cars. His love of mechanics led him and Scott to open Westridge Repair, a shop on the Ludeking acreage.

In 1988, Troy began dating his high school sweetheart, Tasha, and the two remained inseparable for the rest of his life. He graduated from Crestwood High School in 1989, and together he and Tasha welcomed their daughter, Lacey, in 1991. They were married on July 23, 1994, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, and later that year celebrated the birth of their son, Levi, on Christmas Eve. Troy devoted much of his career to ATEK Metal Technologies, where he worked in the maintenance department for many years.

A lifelong enthusiast of anything with four wheels, Troy competed in 4-wheeler pulls with a modified machine he built himself, and he loved riding side-by-sides with family and friends in Black River Falls, Wisconsin. He was an avid fan of NASCAR, NHRA and local dirt track racing, and in recent years found joy along side his brother Greg as a member of the pit crew for the “Hellraiser Funny Car Team” in the Funny Car Chaos drag racing circuit.

Troy also cherished time spent grilling and smoking meat for loved ones—though his conversations often distracted him, leaving Tasha to step in as grill master. He adored his dogs and treasured the role of “designated baby holder” when his grandchildren arrived, happily avoiding card games in favor of cuddles. As his grandsons grew, he was delighted in cheering them on at sporting events. Though not one for sentimental words, Troy expressed his love through action—always present, always lending a hand, and always creating memories with those he held dear.

Troy is survived by his wife, Tasha Hart of Cresco; children Lacey (Dana) Kitchen of Chester, IA, and Levi (Jess) Hart of Cresco; grandsons Winston and Lincoln Kitchen and Maverick Hart; mother Pat Bronner of Cresco; father Larry (Deb) Hart of Lime Springs, IA; mother- and father-in-law Cheri and Rick O’Brien of Cresco; step mother-in-law Judy Yennie of Gilbert, AZ; brothers Greg (Casey) Hart of Lime Springs, Scott (Niki) Bronner of Gilbert, AZ, and Mickey Hart of Milwaukee, WI; along with many sister and brother in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his dogs Beau, Vern, and grand dog Gunner.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather Ray Bronner; father-in-law Norbert Yennie; stepfather-in-law James Zdanowicz; grandparents; aunt Shirley Robinson; and his beloved dog Sophie.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Cresco with Pastor Dan Baldwin officiating. A visitation will be held Monday, November 10, 2025, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Hindt-Hudek Funeral home in Cresco and will continue one hour prior to the services at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be held at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Cresco at a later date.

Hindt-Hudek Funeral Home in Cresco is assisting the family.
