MASON CITY – Lime Creek Nature Center today announced a new amenity for the community, as a new canoe access point just north of Mason City is ready for use.

“Cerro Gordo County Conservation is excited to announce the official opening of the Lime Creek Conservation Area canoe access,” they said this morning.  “Located just off Hwy 65 at 20509 Orchid Ave, this recently completed project provides direct access to the Winnebago River for canoeing, kayaking, and fishing. The property now has a public parking lot, an access road for loading/offloading near the launch, and a gravel footpath to the water’s edge.”

This feature adds to the area’s appeal for outdoor activities.  Back in 2022, a new Kayak-Canoe-Fishing Park was opening just south, in Mason City near 12th Street NW.
