CLIVE, IOWA – This suspect who worked for cleaning company in Iowa offices allegedly stole cash, checks, and credit cards and began opening up bank accounts, but cops but out a public alert and soon brought him in to face justice.

The Clive Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Luis Enrique Hernandez Merino, who was currently wanted on charges of first-degree theft, iIdentity theft and forgery.

Hernandez Merino is a suspect in an ongoing fraud investigation, police explained.

“While working for a well-known cleaning company, he stole cash, checks, and credit cards from a client’s office and then forged and deposited the stolen checks into his personal bank account. He has since opened additional bank accounts and is believed to be continuing the same criminal activity at other financial institutions. Despite multiple attempts to contact him, he remains at large.”

After police alerted the public that a reward might be available for information leading to his capture, Hernandez Merino was brought into custody. He remains in the Polk county jail awaiting future court appearances.
