CHARLES CITY – This violent Chicago criminal sought by Illinois authorities was somehow in Charles City driving around in a U-Haul truck when he crashed into a street sign, then he lied to cops and was arrested, and now he is wanted on an arrest warrant here for skipping out on court.

Charles City, Iowa

The trouble began back on February 14, 2025. On that Valentine’s Day afternoon, officers with the Charles City police department went to the 600 block of Wisconsin Street for a vehicle accident. Arriving at 4:22 PM, officers encountered wanted Chicago goon Jordan Dingillo inside a U-Haul truck. He allegedly went to back up the truck when his superb driving skills failed him and he backed into a street sign for Spriggs and Wisconsin streets. Police say Dingillo gave them trouble and interfered with their investigation as they ticketed him for failure to maintain control and driving with no license. Police soon discovered that Dingillo was wanted out of Illinois on warrants for assault, robbery, and more.

As a result of the incident, Dingillo was arrested on the warrants and soon shipped back to Illinois as future court appearances here in Floyd county were lined up. Dingillo has been quite the troublemaker over in the Land of Lincoln, described in news reports as the “leader of a band of housebreakers who pulled a pregnant Joliet teen out of bed and tied her up before pistol-whipping and robbing her boyfriend” back in 2014.

It was also reported that the victim described her encounter with Dingillo and his gang, “I was sleeping when four boys, including Jordan, came into my bedroom and attacked me and my fiancé,” she said. “They dragged me out of my bed, I am seven months pregnant, they put me on the floor on my knees, and zip-tied my hands together. They began to threaten me to give them the combination to my fiancé’s safe. I do not know the combination and told them so. Then they continued to pistol-whip my fiancé.”

They also stabbed the man in the shoulder with a screwdriver before ransacking their home. The victim went on to tell police Dingillo “moves around a lot like a Gypsy. He is unpredictable and has a heroin addiction.”

Dingillo got 5 years in prison for that crime. Reports also indicate he has been in prison or jail for drug crimes and retail theft. He was most recently arrested on a warrant in Will county, Illinois (pictured at top in a mugshot) on May 1, 2025.

Back here in Iowa, Dingillo is a fugitive from justice, and an arrest warrant for him was set by a judge in Floyd county back in April.
