Elderly Iowa man killed in auto crash Thursday

BOONE COUNTY – An auto crash Thursday morning took the life of an elderly Iowa man, the Iowa State Patrol confirmed.

On May 29, 2025, at 8:23 AM, the Boone County Communications Center took a report of a two-vehicle, personal injury accident at the intersection of Highway 30 and Montana Road. in Boone County. Boone County Sheriff’s Deputies, Boone Police, Iowa State Patrol, Boone fire and Boone County Hospital all responded to the scene.

Authorities say 17-year-old Aubrey Alexander of Templeton, Iowa, was driving a 2006 Ford Mustang eastbound on Highway 30. Her vehicle collided with a 2003 Ford Ranger crossing Highway 30 southbound on Montana Road, driven by 89-year-old Dale Crouse of Boone, Iowa.

As a result of the accident Dale Crouse was transported by ambulance from the scene but was later pronounced deceased at the Boone County Hospital. Aubrey Alexander was checked by medical personnel on scene and released.

The accident investigation is being completed by the Iowa State Patrol.
