INDEPENDENCE, IOWA – Law enforcement in this Northern Iowa county announced numerous recent arrests for week of May 11-17, 2025.
On Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at approximately 8:05 pm, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Carah Belle Evans, 41, of Fairbank. Evans was charged with first offense Possession of Controlled Substance – Marijuana (serious misdemeanor) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor). These charges stem from a search warrant in the 1100 blk Carter Avenue on April 08, 2025. Evans was held on bond at the Buchanan County Jail.
On Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at approximately 9:05 pm, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Amber Michelle Grantz, 47, of Cresco. Grantz was charged with first offense Possession of Controlled Substance – Marijuana (serious misdemeanor) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor). This arrest was made after a Deputy stopped to check on a vehicle stalled in the 2100 blk Double L Drive east of Independence.
On Thursday, May 15, 2025 at approximately 1:20 pm, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Adam James Nielsen, 40, of West Union. Nielsen was arrested on an active arrest warrant out of Buchanan County for Probation Violation and taken into custody from the Bremer County Sheriff’s Office.
On Thursday, May 15, 2025 at approximately 4:05 pm, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Joseph James Fuller, 21, of Independence. Fuller was arrested on an active arrest warrant out of Buchanan County for original charges of Providing False Information in Acquiring Weapon (class D felony) and Driving While License Suspended (simple misdemeanor), and held on bond at the Buchanan County Jail.
On Saturday, May 17, 2025 at approximately 1:15 am, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Stacey Marie Frisbey, 45, of Hazleton. Frisbey was charged with Gathering Where Controlled Substances are Used (class D felony), Going Armed with Intent (class D felony), Assault While Displaying Dangerous Weapon (aggravated misdemeanor), first degree Harassment (aggravated misdemeanor), Assault Causing Bodily Injury (serious misdemeanor), False Imprisonment (serious misdemeanor) and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor (simple misdemeanor). This arrest was made following a disturbance in the 400 blk E Sufficool Street in Hazleton. The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, Oelwein Police Department and Fairbank Police Department.
