Doreen Rose Sattler, 69, of Sumner, died suddenly on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Regional Services of Howard County in Cresco. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 19, 2025, at the Methodist Church.

Doreen Rose Sattler, 69, of Sumner, died suddenly on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Regional Services of Howard County in Cresco.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, April 19, 2025, at the Methodist Church in Sumner with Rev. Mike Jager officiating. There will be no visitation prior to the service. Private family inurnment will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Cemetery, Lawler. Memorials may be made to the family for later designation.

Doreen Rose, daughter of Manuel and Lucille (Fravel) Curtis was born October 17, 1955, in Harmony, Minnesota. She received her education in the Traer and Cresco Public Schools, and graduated from Cresco High School in 1973. Following graduation, Doreen worked at Coast to Coast in Cresco. On April 3, 1982, she was united in marriage with Mike Sattler at the Little Brown Church, near Nashua. The couple made Sumner their home. Doreen began her career at the Sumner School District in 1985 and retired in 2015. Following retirement, she remained busy, volunteering at the Sumner Public Library, was very active at the United Methodist Church, and was passionate about assisting with the Lights in the Park. Doreen enjoyed gardening, camping, golfing, but her greatest joy was time she spent with her family. Doreen cherished her relationship with her nieces and nephews and was always willing to do anything to be there for them.

Doreen is survived by her husband, Mike of Sumner; one brother, Raymond (Mary) Curtis of Mabel, Minnesota; sister, Glenda (Joe) Lacey of Ridgeway; sister-in-law, Deb Curtis of Sumner; brother-in-law, Bill Sattler of Lawler; fourteen nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Dale and Gene; sister-in-law, Mary Moore; and niece, Cheryl Woodson.
