Mason City multi-family dwelling suffers significant damage in Tuesday fire

MASON CITY – A fire caused significant damage to a multi-family dwelling in Mason City on Tuesday afternoon.

At 1:16 PM on January 28, 2025 the Mason City Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 415 N. Pennsylvania. The Fire Department arrived on scene and the fire was on the exterior of the building
with fire moving into the structure through windows that had broken. The building is a large house with 4 apartments and all occupants were accounted for and safe.

There were no injuries.

The structure sustained significant damage.  It is owned by 415 N PENNSYLVANIA LLC.

The fire is still under investigation.

The Mason City Police Department, Alliant Energy and Cerro Gordo County Emergency Management assisted at the scene.

NIT reported back in 2013 that this same structure at 415 N, Pennsylvania Avenue had a fire incident.
