BURLINGTON, IOWA – One man died and another suffered severe injuries in a recent Iowa shooting, and cops have two suspects in custody in connection to the incident.
NIT previously reported that on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at 10:19 PM, Burlington Police Department patrol officers responded to the 500 block of S 7th street for reports of a shooting. Responding officers arrived on scene and located two victims with gunshot wounds. Police say 28-year-old Alondro Lee Pratt of Racine, Wisconsin, died at the scene of this incident. 50-year-old Richard Willie Jackson of Burlington was transported to a hospital.
Police worked to solve the crime, and soon reported that on December 2, 18-year-old Shermando Harper was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service in Chicago, Illinois. Harper was apprehended on Des Moines County, Iowa, warrants for 1st Degree Murder and Attempted Murder. Harper is being held at the Des Moines County Jail.
Police later reported that Kathryn F. Cable was arrested and charged with accessory after the fact – Murder in the first-degree, a class D felony.
