IOWA CITY – The 12th-ranked University of Iowa field hockey team fell against Indiana, 2-1 (2OT), on Friday afternoon at Grant Field.
The Hawkeyes and Hoosiers played a scoreless first half, before Indiana struck first at the 36:15 mark in the third quarter.
Iowa answered back in the fourth quarter on an unassisted goal by Annika Herbine at 47:13. The teams remained tied at the end of regulation.
Neither team was able to score in the first overtime. In the second overtime at 77:27, Indiana scored the golden goal to secure the win.
Indiana outshot Iowa, 15-to-9 and had five penalty corners to Iowa’s two. Mia Magnotta had four saves for Iowa.
