Roger Warren was born on May 5, 1931, in Belmond, IA, to Christopher and Violet (Tuttle) Wagner. He graduated from Belmond High School and soon after, began his service with the United States Marines. After his honorable discharge, Roger returned to Belmond where he worked with his brother-in-law and father-in-law, as well as working as a truck driver. The family later moved to Northwood where he founded Fashion Floors. Later he worked at B&K Lumber Yard and then at Carroll George. Retirement was never a word in Roger’s vocabulary; he even picked up double shifts at Adventureland. His adventurous spirit took him on hundreds of RV trips, and he enjoyed spending winters in Arizona.

On Aug. 27, 1950 he married Marjorie Joan Kennedy and three children were born to this union: Lana Jean, Susan Kaye and Dennis Craig. In January 2010 Marjorie passed away. In 2014 he met Ruth Maxwell in Arizona. She was originally from Maxwell, Iowa. They bonded over their love of cribbage and have spent the last ten years together, turning two families into one big family.

For over 30 years, Roger was a dedicated member of the Northwood Fire Department, serving many of those years as Chief. His commitment to the community was unwavering. He shared an airplane with his friend, Dick Hanson, finding peace and joy in the skies. A man of many talents, if Roger could dream it, he could build it, leading to countless remodels and projects over the years. Above all, Roger cherished his family. Time spent with his daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren brought him the greatest joy.

He was a longtime member of the Northwood United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his beloved daughters, Lana (John) Anderson and Susan “Susie” (Keith) Braun, all of Northwood; significant other, Ruth Maxwell; grandchildren, Jennifer (Ryan) Wahl, Brandon (Lori) Evans, James (Stephanie) Eskildsen, Andrew (Kelly) Eskildsen, Kevin (Alli) Braun, Katie (Chase) Reding and Kristen (Josh) Andersen; great-grandchildren, Sydney (Greg) Reinartz, Reese, Emersyn, Blake, Lila, Brody, Kailey, Kennedy, Colby, Brett, Zach, Paige, Boden, Bexton, Henrik, Malakai, Frankie, Madyson, Leighton, Ryleigh, and Graycen; three great-great grandchildren, Braelynn, Westlynn and Kase; three brothers, Howard (Jeanne) Wagner, and Verdell (Juanita) Wagner; sister, Kaye (Paul) Jackson; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family.
