MASON CITY – A Garner man was taken to the hospital after a motorcycle accident in Mason City Wednesday morning.

On June 21, 2023, at about 7:06 AM, the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department received a call of a single vehicle motorcycle accident on Hwy 122 just east of Lark Ave. The driver, 62-year-old Mark Steenhard of Garner, Iowa, had left the frontage road by North Iowa Golf and crossed over Highway 122 intending to make a left-hand turn into the eastbound lane. While doing so, an eastbound vehicle started to change lanes and caused Steenhard to lose control and lay the motorcycle on its side. He was transported to Mercy Hospital by Mason City Fire Medics where he was treated for minor injuries.

The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol and Mason City Fire.
