REINBECK, IOWA – A Northern Iowa woman lost her life when she was thrown from a rolling UTV with at least 5 other people on board.
Authorities say the accident took place on the evening of February 4, 2023. At approximately 8:40 PM that night, the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office responded to a UTV accident about two miles Northeast of Reinbeck, in rural Grundy County, Iowa. The sheriff’s office says Patrick Knaack was operating a UTV with six people in it when he lost control. The UTV then rolled, ejecting 53-year-old Lori Knaack of Reinbeck. Lori Knaack was transported to the Grundy County Memorial Hospital where she died from her injuries. Two other occupants were treated for non-life threatening injuries at Mercy One in Waterloo.
The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Reinbeck Ambulance.
This accident remains under investigation by the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office.
