RURAL CERRO GORDO COUNTY – Two Mason City teens escaped a fiery crash outside Clear Lake.
On September 15, 2022, at 9:25 PM, the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office responded to the intersection of Hickory Avenue and 295th Street for a single vehicle collision. Saige Kingery, 17, of Mason City, drove off the roadway and the 2011 Ford Escape overturned. The occupants were able to free themselves from the vehicle and it caught fire. Taegen Elwood, 15, of Mason City, was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Saige Kingery was cited for fail to maintain control.
