IOWA CITY – A woman shot outside a bar in Iowa City and seriously injured, police say.
On Sunday, August 7, 2022, at 2:24 AM, Iowa City Police responded to the H-Bar, 220 S. Van Buren St. for a report of multiple shots fired. While responding, additional information indicated at least one person was shot outside in the alley.
Upon arrival, officers located a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Early investigation into the incident determined multiple people were in the alley when the shots were fired. Officers, along with responders from the Iowa City Fire Department and Johnson County Ambulance, provided medical aid and transported the victim to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The suspected shooter was last seen fleeing the area in a vehicle. No additional information pertaining to this incident was release.
