MASON CITY – Mason City police are searching for a suspect vehicle after possible shots were fired in a North End neighborhood this past weekend.
A Mason City police spokesman tells NIT that MCPD officers responded to a report of shots fired on Saturday, February 20, 2021, at approximately 6:01 AM.
“Several callers reported to dispatch that they had heard several shots fired in the 900 block of North Pennsylvania,” the spokesman explained. “Officers arrived on scene a short time later and began an investigation. Residents there spoke to officers and reported what they had heard. Officers checked the area for damage to structures and/or vehicles and found none. We are still gathering information about a suspect vehicle that was in the area and left at a high rate of speed afterward.”
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Mason City Police Department at 641-421-3636.

I’ve never needed a cop, dont know anyone who’s ever needed the help of a cop. If you dont make stupid choices and pay attention it isnt hard to avoid the kinda stupid shit that puts you in contact with public servants, isnt it? Maybe mason cities problem is people call the cops for stupid shit, CONSTANTLY! Or they are always busy dealing with the same idiots and the same meth drama all day every day and night. Cerro Gordon courts dont do mcpd any favors wrist slapping habitual hard drug abusers, thieves. Domestic abusers and sexual predators. Some guy shoots someone last year and gets two years probation this year? That isnt justice. That’s the system letting a violent criminal out to reoffend so they can pump him for fines he probably wont pay, end up in jail where we get to pay for him and be back on the street in half his suspended light sentence…. mason city is a gutter.
I wish we had cops who could actually do their job…. taking out an ad on news website for help solving a crime, that’s pretty weak. Law Enforcement is a joke in North Iowa.
