Iowa prison inmate dies from Covid-19, officials say

IOWA CITY – An Iowa prison inmate convicted multiple times of theft likely died from Covid-19, officials say.

Timothy Louis McGhee Jr. was pronounced dead, likely due to complications related to COVID-19 and multiple preexisting medical conditions, at approximately 10:20 p.m. last night at the University of Iowa Hospital. McGhee was 48 years old at the time of his death. The Johnson County Medical Examiner has conducted their review; an autopsy will not be performed. His passing marks the third death of an Iowa inmate likely related to COVID-19.

McGhee was serving a 15-year sentence for the three convictions of Theft 2nd Degree (714.2[2]) from Linn County. His sentence began on October 31, 2018.

Wonder how Many deaths there were last year same time frame?

It’s claimed in New York City that about 18,000 people died from the pandemic during it’s siege of the city. During the same time the total recorded deaths were about 32,000 for the city. It happened quickly March – June. The population density is 26,000 per square mile. The American psyche is getting increasingly hostile across the nation. Edgy.
