NORTHWOOD – A person was saved from a drug overdose at the Diamond Jo Casino.

On November 22, 2019 at approximately 3:44 AM, the Worth County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a subject at the Diamond Jo Casino who had over-dosed. Deputies arrived on scene and observed one unconscious subject and evidence of opiate use. Deputies administered several doses of Narcan prior to EMS arrival and the subject regained consciousness and was eventually transported by ambulance.

The Worth County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Northwood Rescue, Mason City Ambulance, and Mercy Air Med.

  1. maybe after going there and losing all his money, which is very common practice with the tight machines Ip there, he decided to commit suicide and didn’t want to be saved!!!! since Boyd took it over, NO ONE WINS

    1. I love hearing people who gamble complain about losing, as if the machines are made to favor the gambler. Or these people who spend $500.00 to win a “big pot” of $150.00. People who gamble are just as stupid as people who smoke. Love to see their money fly away like feathers in the wind.

      1. On the rare instances I gamble, I take $20 and and hour time limit. Which ever hits first. I plan on losing the money I gamble with. This is in my entertainment budget. (once about every 6-8 months).
