Mason City Driver’s License Service Center relocating after issues in shopping center

MASON CITY – The Mason City Driver’s License Service Center is in the process of relocating to a long-term, temporary location after issues in the Southport shopping center.

The Iowa Department of Transportation’s Mason City Driver’s License Service Center located at 1622 S. Federal Avenue, closed due to facility issues on or before November 7.   The DOT says they are working diligently to get the temporary office – in a trailer in the parking lot of the Iowa DOT’s District 2 Office at 428 43rd St. SW. – ready to serve customer and was expected to open at 8:30 am on Friday, Nov. 8.   Driver’s license and identification services are expected to be provided at this location into the new year until a new, permanent location can be opened.

The whole area should be turned into a ginormous fenced in junkyard.

It did happen. Sewers are in terrible shape. It is one of the reasons all the businesses have moved out.
