Sheffield police say no danger after online threats made to students

Sheffield, Iowa

SHEFFIELD, IOWA – Sheffield police say there is no danger after online threats were made to students.

According to Sheffield Chief of Police Brad A. Gardner, “the Sheffield Police Department and the school had been made aware of some threatening messages made through snapchats last evening to individual students. We want to inform the community that we have matters under control and have determined that there is no immediate threat to any individual or the public.
“At this time we would like to encourage parents to use this as a learning experience that what is said on a social media platform can have consequences. Please have a talk with your sons and daughters about being conscious of what and how things are posted on social media.”
Violence in schools has become a major issue in the United States, with school shootings at the center of the debate focusing on gun laws and mental illness issues.

Did the Sheffield PD solve this issue while they were parked south of the bridge on Hwy 65, south of town?
